I remembered this spot from years ago. I got there and it was pretty hazy but the space still spectacular.

I didn't have a large canvas prepared so I painted two small canvases simultaneously which was a large effort going back and forth.

I painted the skies, then the furthest mountains, the middle and then foregrounds back and forth.

Finally got painting. Moab, Utah

It been so very Hot everywhere, and I had the feeling I wanted to make my acrylic on paper studio type painting as I followed my Southern Route. As I get started with the oil paint though I see I want to continue them, as they have their own authenticity.

Castle Creek Road into Moab, Utah and Arches National Park.

I needed to get all my materials in order and I've been traveling with too much in the car, hindering me in this heat. One needs to be very streamlined or this whole thing gets out of control.
